I understand and agree that door to door service means - Carrier will pick up and deliver as close to my door as legally and as safely as possible. I understand and agree to meet the driver at an agreeable place to load or unload if necessary because of low hanging trees, low hanging wires, narrow streets, and city ordinances. The drivers are very knowledgeable as to where they can and cannot go with the trucks. Remember these trucks are 80 feet long and 14 feet high, but they need approx. 100 feet so they can safely pull out the ramps to load and unload cars. It may be necessary for the driver to unload 3 or 4 cars to load your vehicle, therefore he will need a spot to park those vehicles.
I understand that it is against DOT (Department of Transportation) Regulations to transport vehicle(s) with any personal items inside the vehicle (car seats are ok). I agree not to have my vehicle(s) packed with boxes, furniture, clothing, plants, etc. I understand that auto transportation companies have the authority to transport vehicles only. Personal items are not covered under cargo insurance, it only covers the vehicle against transport damage.
I understand that due to unforeseen circumstances that can arise with weather, road conditions, mechanical problems and coordination with other customers schedules, GKE cannot guarantee a particular date for pick up or delivery, therefore arrival dates are usually a 4-5 day window (this is narrowed down as the date gets closer). I understand that transit time is usually 7-10 days from the day we pick the car up , but can take up to 14 days depending on the load (North East cars could possibly take up to 16 days) each load is different and will vary in transit time.
I understand that GKE insurance covers “Transport Damage Only” ie… if damage is caused by “the driver” or “GKE equipment” then GKE will cover the damage. If damage is out of the drivers control (damage from flying debris [includes birds], vandalism, acts of God etc.) then my insurance becomes primary.
I understand that if I see damage and feel that the damage occurred during transport, I MUST note it on the inspection at the time of delivery, then call or email the office ASAP to report it. Once reported GKE will start the claim process. The claim will be reviewed and determined if it is “transport damage”. If it is, then Golden Key will pay reasonable costs for repair. If damage is NOT noted on inspection at time of delivery, claim will not be honored. Please understand, some small dings and scratches can be missed on the original inspection if the car is dirty or if the lighting is not perfect. Golden Key Express is not responsible for pre-existing damage.
I understand that my vehicle(s) MUST run, steer & brake. Our trucks are not equipped to haul non operational vehicles. If my car becomes non operational during transit, a $200.00 non op fee will apply at delivery.
